I love November! Especially in states with seasons, like Virginia. Here it’s just getting chilly, and I love the bite in the air as I walk out the door in the morning. The leaves are brilliant, too — not even a superstorm could blow them all away.

I also love the thrill of anticipating holidays. Thanksgiving is only three weeks away, and then a month of Christmas! I can’t wait to bake sugar cookies, eat pumpkin pie, see family, and listen to Christmas music.

Speaking of holidays… it’s also red cup day at Starbucks! Happy November!

“Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn.”
–   Elizabeth Lawrence

“Pleasures lie thickest where no pleasures seem:
There’s not a leaf that falls upon the ground
But holds some joy of silence or of sound,
Some spirits begotten of a summer dream.”
–   Laman Blanchard

About Michal Conger

I’m a reporter and digital editor, a cooking and whole foods fanatic, a runner, a music lover, an Anthropologie devotee. I'm an avid reader of G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and anti-modernist novels. Lately you’ll find me freelancing about education policy and local economic issues to support my horseback riding habit. I am married to my best friend. And above all, I am committed to bearing the testimony of the Lord Jesus, giving an answer for the hope that is in me.
